Audi Q5 Finance Calculator, APRs & Monthly Payments Explained

Financing an Audi Q5? Compare the dealer's quote and see how much you could save.

Prefinance runs that comparison for you: we take the dealer's own finance example for the exact Q5 you're looking at and compare it against the best available rate from our panel of finance brokers for that type of vehicle. On average, that turns up savings of up to 30% against dealer finance, but that's an average, not a promise for your deal specifically. Plenty of dealer Q5 finance is already priced fairly, and the only way to know which side of that line you're on is to run the comparison.

Across Audi finance generally, Prefinance customers have seen an average APR of 8.81% through our panel of credit brokers against a dealer average of 12.12%, working out to an average monthly saving of £59.26 and an average total saving of £2,738.09, based on 311 comparisons. Your own saving on the Q5 depends on your credit profile, the lender, and the specific deal in front of you.

What's the difference between PCP and HP on a Q5?

Both are hire purchase agreements in the legal sense, meaning the car isn't yours until the final payment clears, but they split the cost differently. HP spreads the full price, minus your deposit, evenly across the term, so every payment builds toward ownership; that's exactly why both HP quotes above come out well above their own PCP quotes on the identical car. PCP defers a chunk of the price to a Guaranteed (Minimum) Future Value at the end, keeping the monthly payment down; you can then pay it to keep the car, hand it back, or roll it into your next one.

One assumption underpins the instant comparison either way: Prefinance assumes the new lender's GFV matches the dealer's own. If your matched broker structures it differently, your real monthly payment could come out higher or lower than the illustrative figure.

How does Prefinance work out the savings?

You give us the vehicle — by registration, by make and model, or by pasting in a link from a dealer site or a listings site like Autotrader, provided that page shows a finance example. We read the dealer's own quote and compare it against the best available rate from our broker panel for that type of vehicle. The comparison assumes you'd qualify for the panel of brokers' best rate, which depends on your credit profile, and that the dealer you're buying from is FCA authorised. Every comparison you run is saved, so you can come back and check previous ones too.

Representative APR means at least 51% of customers offered finance by that provider get that rate or better, a genuine benchmark, not a guarantee of your own rate. Dealers and brokers also earn commission for arranging finance, which is a real reason two near-identical Q5s can be offered at different rates by different dealers; exposing that gap is a large part of what our comparison actually does.

What affects the rate you're offered?

Your credit score does most of the work, but deposit size, trim, term length and finance structure all move the number too, as the table above shows; the two genuine PCP-versus-HP pairs are a clear illustration of how much the finance structure alone can shift the monthly figure on an identical car, and the SQ5 term comparison shows the same for term length. A longer term usually lowers the monthly payment but adds to the total interest paid.

What to check before you apply

  1. Confirm the deposit and mileage in your comparison match the dealer's actual quote — the deposit is editable, but a mismatch elsewhere skews the result.

  2. If comparing PCP against HP on the same car, look at both the monthly payment and whether you actually want to own the car outright at the end — the difference can be substantial, as the table above shows.

  3. If you're weighing up different terms on the same car, look at the total interest over the whole agreement, not just which monthly figure looks smallest.

  4. Read the broker's full representative example before signing anything — it carries the exact figures for your deal, not the illustrative ones above.

The only way to know for sure whether the dealer's Audi Q5 quote in front of you is already good is to run the comparison on your specific chosen car and see what the panel of brokers comes back with.

Disclaimer

Rates are the best available and may not be available for this exact vehicle. Mileages, vehicle age, term of loan, the exact lender and the type of finance can all affect the rate and monthly payment. Rates can change and previous examples shown may no longer be available. We use large language models (LLMs) to extract data from website pages to calculate our savings. LLMs can make errors so it's important you check the information on any quotes with the brokers in our panel. They will re-run all quotes with their individual lenders panels to find the appropriate deal based on today's rates.

Our assumptions

To provide our comparisons, we make the following assumptions:

1
You have a good credit rating and will qualify for the provider's best available rate.
2
The vehicle you have chosen is from a dealer who is FCA authorised.
3
If the example is for a personal contract plan (PCP), that the GFV (guaranteed future value) is the same. If the lender is different from the dealer's lender, the GFV could be higher or lower, which will affect your monthly payments.
4
That the deposit is the same. You can change the deposit using the edit button)
5
For Lease Purchase you will need to request a quote from one of partners by submitting an application.
