New Porsche Cayenne Electric Coupe – 0-60 in 2.5 secs and 1000bhp
Porsche has officially unveiled the electric future of its flagship SUV. The new Porsche Cayenne Electric, arriving in Coupe and standard body styles, marks the brand's most powerful production car to date. Moving away from internal combustion, the range-topping Turbo model delivers performance figures previously reserved for dedicated supercars.
Performance and Powertrain
The headline act is the Cayenne Turbo Electric. Utilizing a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, it produces a peak output of 1,140 bhp (1,156 PS) and over 1,100 lb-ft of torque when using Launch Control. This allows the 2.6-tonne SUV to sprint from 0-62 mph in just 2.5 seconds—matching the acceleration of a Porsche 911 Turbo S.
For those not requiring four-figure horsepower, the entry-level Cayenne Electric offers a more measured 435 bhp (with overboost), achieving 0-62 mph in a still-respectable 4.8 seconds.
Battery and Charging
All models are equipped with a 113 kWh battery (108 kWh usable). Thanks to its 800-volt architecture, the Cayenne supports DC fast charging at speeds up to 400 kW.
10% to 80% charge: Approximately 15–16 minutes.
Range: The standard model offers up to 399 miles (WLTP), while the Turbo version maintains a high efficiency with up to 387 miles of range.
Inductive Charging: Porsche is also introducing an optional 11 kW wireless charging pad for home use.

The Global Market: How it Compares
The Cayenne Turbo Electric enters a niche category of "Hyper-SUVs." Here is how it stacks up against its closest high-performance electric rivals.
Model | Peak Power | 0-60/62 mph | Max Range |
Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric | 1,140 bhp | 2.5s | 387 miles |
Tesla Model X Plaid | 1,020 bhp | 2.5s* | 337 miles |
Lotus Eletre R | 905 bhp | 2.95s | 310 miles |
Rivian R1S (Ascend Quad) | 1,025 bhp | 2.6s | 410 miles |

Summary: A Supercar in an SUV Suit
With a price tag starting north of £130,000 for the Turbo model, the electric Cayenne is undeniably expensive. However, when looking at the current market, there is very little that offers this specific combination of attributes.
While the Tesla Model X Plaid matches its acceleration, it cannot compete with Porsche's 400 kW charging infrastructure or build quality. The Lotus Eletre R is a close rival but falls short on total range. For those seeking nearly 400 miles of range paired with unbelievable acceleration that matches almost any supercar on the road, the Cayenne Electric stands in a class of its own. It is a vehicle that justifies its price by being, quite literally, the most capable all-rounder Porsche has ever built.
