Looking to finance a Nissan Qashqai? Don't settle for the dealer's quote alone. Prefinance compares it against top rates from our panel of brokers

Nissan Qashqai Finance Calculator: APRs & Monthly Payments

Looking at financing a Qashqai? The dealer's finance quote is only half the picture. The other half is what our panel of brokers would charge for the same car, and most buyers never get to see that comparison.

Prefinance runs that comparison for you: we take the dealer's own finance example for the exact Qashqai you're looking at and compare it against the best available rate from our panel of finance brokers for that type of vehicle. On average, that turns up savings of up to 30% against dealer finance; that's an average across many deals, and not set in stone.

What's the difference between PCP and HP on a Qashqai?

Both are hire purchase agreements in the legal sense. The car isn't yours until the final payment clears, but they split the cost differently. HP spreads the full price, minus your deposit, evenly across the term, so every payment builds toward ownership; that's exactly why the HP quote on the 2022 Tekna comes out so much higher per month than its own PCP quote on the identical car. PCP defers a chunk of the price to a Guaranteed (Minimum) Future Value at the end, keeping the monthly payment down; you can then pay it to keep the car, hand it back, or roll it into your next one.

One assumption underpins the instant comparison either way: Prefinance assumes the new lender's GFV matches the dealer's own. If your matched broker structures it differently, your real monthly payment could come out higher or lower than the illustrative figure.

How does Prefinance work out the savings?

You give us the vehicle — by registration, by make and model, or by pasting in a link from a dealer site or a listings site like Autotrader, provided that page shows a finance example. We read the dealer's own quote and compare it against the best available rate from our panel of brokers for that type of vehicle. The comparison assumes you'd qualify for the panel's best rate, which depends on your credit profile, and that the dealer you're buying from is FCA authorised. Every comparison you run is saved, so you can come back and check previous ones too.

Representative APR means at least 51% of customers offered finance by that provider get that rate or better; it's a genuine benchmark, not a guarantee of your own rate. The brokers are competitive on Qashqai deals too, as the real examples above show. How much you'd actually save depends on the specific car you choose, and your own circumstances.

What affects the rate you're offered?

Credit score does most of the work, but deposit size, trim and finance structure all move the number too, as the table above shows. The two 2022 Tekna rows make the finance-structure point especially clear, with an identical car swinging from £94.51 to £300.14 a month depending purely on whether it's PCP or HP. A longer term usually lowers the monthly payment but adds to the total interest paid. And a factor most buyers never think about: dealers and brokers earn commission for arranging finance, which is a genuine reason two near-identical Qashqais can be offered at different rates by different dealers; exposing that gap is a large part of what our comparison actually does.

What to check before you apply

  1. Confirm the deposit and mileage in your comparison match the dealer's actual quote — the deposit is editable, but a mismatch elsewhere skews the result.

  2. If comparing PCP against HP on the same car, look at both the monthly payment and whether you actually want to own the car outright at the end — the difference can be substantial, as the table above shows.

  3. Ask what happens to your monthly payment if the matched lender's GFV differs from the dealer's — don't assume it'll match exactly.

  4. Read the broker's full representative example before signing anything — it carries the exact figures for your deal, not the illustrative ones above.

The only way to know upfront whether the dealer's Nissan Qashqai quote in front of you is already good, as sometimes it is. Run the comparison on your specific car and see what the panel of brokers comes back with.

Disclaimer

Rates are the best available and may not be available for this exact vehicle. Mileages, vehicle age, term of loan, the exact lender and the type of finance can all affect the rate and monthly payment. Rates can change and previous examples shown may no longer be available. We use large language models (LLMs) to extract data from website pages to calculate our savings. LLMs can make errors so it's important you check the information on any quotes with the brokers in our panel. They will re-run all quotes with their individual lenders panels to find the appropriate deal based on today's rates.

Our assumptions

To provide our comparisons, we make the following assumptions:

1
You have a good credit rating and will qualify for the provider's best available rate.
2
The vehicle you have chosen is from a dealer who is FCA authorised.
3
If the example is for a personal contract plan (PCP), that the GFV (guaranteed future value) is the same. If the lender is different from the dealer's lender, the GFV could be higher or lower, which will affect your monthly payments.
4
That the deposit is the same. You can change the deposit using the edit button)
5
For Lease Purchase you will need to request a quote from one of partners by submitting an application.
