VW T-Roc Finance Calculator & Payments Explained
Need to compare a T-Roc finance quote? The dealer's quote is just a starting point, one that only becomes meaningful once it's been checked against what else is out there.
That's the gap Prefinance closes. Show us the exact T-Roc you've got your eye on, and we'll set the dealer's own finance example against the sharpest rate our panel of brokers can deliver. Run the numbers, and the average saving comes out at up to 30% versus dealer finance, an average built from a large pool of deals, not a guarantee attached to any single one, and the dealer in front of you may be already pricing fairly.

PCP versus HP on a T-Roc — what's actually different?
Legally speaking, you're not the owner of the car under either agreement until the last payment has gone through; both are hire purchase arrangements at heart. The split comes down to how the cost is portioned out. Under HP, the full price (minus whatever deposit you've put down) gets divided evenly across every month of the term, so you're chipping away at ownership from payment one; that's the shape behind both R-Line HP rows above, and it's why their monthly figures sit noticeably higher than a PCP quote on a similarly priced car. PCP instead earmarks a slice of the price as a Guaranteed (Minimum) Future Value, payable only if you decide to keep the car once the term's up, that's what pulls the monthly cost down on every other row in the table.
Whichever structure you're looking at, Prefinance's instant comparison works on one shared assumption: that whichever lender you're matched with would set the same GFV as the dealer did. Brokers don't always agree on that figure, so treat the monthly payment shown as a close estimate rather than a number carved in stone.
How Prefinance arrives at your savings
Point us at the car, a reg number does it, or a make and model, or simply paste in a link from a dealer's listing or a site like Auto Trader, as long as that listing shows a finance example. We take what the dealer's quoting and put it against the sharpest rate our broker panel offers for that class of car. That comparison assumes the panel's best rate is one you'd actually qualify for, which comes down to your own credit history, and that the selling dealer holds FCA authorisation. Every comparison gets saved on your account, so nothing you've already run needs redoing.
On representative APR: it's the rate at least 51 out of every 100 customers a lender approves for finance actually get, or better, a regulatory benchmark rather than a headline figure picked to impress. What you personally end up saving comes down to your specific car and circumstances. Commission is part of the story as well: both dealers and brokers get paid for setting up finance, which goes some way to explaining why two nearly identical T-Rocs can carry different rates at different dealerships, and that's largely what running a comparison exposes.
What actually moves the rate you're offered?
Credit score carries most of the weight, but deposit size and term length matter too — the 300 4Motion R rows make that obvious, with the same car swinging from £205.91 to £334.63 a month purely on how the term's set. Stretch the term and the monthly cost drops, though you'll pay more interest overall by the time it's done.
Before you apply, it's worth checking:
Make sure the deposit and mileage in your comparison line up with what the dealer's actually quoting — the deposit field is editable, but get anything else wrong, and the result skews.
Comparing a PCP quote against an HP one on the same car? Check the term matches too, not just the finance type — get that wrong and you're not comparing like for like.
Ask what happens to the monthly figure if your matched lender's GFV doesn't match the dealer's — it's an assumption baked into the comparison, not a certainty.
If you're weighing up different terms on the same car, look at the total interest over the whole agreement, not just which monthly figure looks smallest.
Before signing anything, read the broker's full representative example — it holds the actual numbers for your deal, not the illustrative ones shown here.
None of this settles in advance whether the dealer's T-Roc quote you're holding is already a fair one, as sometimes it is. Running the comparison on your specific car is the only way to know when you see what the panel of brokers comes back with.
